After talking with a few friends, they recommended I dispose of my prescription pain meds by mixing them with undesirable materials. So, I mixed them with my husband's cooking. (It is terrible, but he is learning. Sorry honey!) I ground up my old meds, put them in the left over meat loaf, mixed it all together, and dumped it in my trash can on garbage day. I have to ask this forum though, what other ways can I safely get rid of my old prescription pain meds?
I too have a small surplus of pain medication. I'm going to follow this advice, crush em, mix em, and trash em. Such a simple thing to do to help keep my home safe from misuse.

Did you see the drop-off location section on this website? It is great. It tells you exactly where you can go to dispose of unused and unwanted prescriptions. Great resource!
